Woodlands People and Events with Missy Herndon October 2011
Socially speaking, October is one of my favorite months of the year. As a Social editor, I LOVE to attend your events, learn about the many causes this community supports and meet you, our readers. I heard from many of you last month in response to my column about the kindness of the people of our area. I think that was very apparent this past month as the fires hit our neighboring Magnolia and again, our community sprang into action to help serve others in a time of need. As we move into the Fall, and those needs change, I hope you will continue your spirit of giving and supporting by attending one of the many philanthropic events in our area. Check out our magazine’s Happenings Calendar and featured charitable events below, and you too will be “Scene” in The Woodlands!
OCTOBER’S FEATURED EVENT
Honor our Hometown Heroes at The Woodlands Celebration of Excellence Gala at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott on Oct. 8. The annual fundraising event, benefiting Interfaith of The Woodlands, is always an exciting evening for our community as individuals and businesses are celebrated for their many contributions in serving the people of our area. This year’s event, themed, “A Walk through The Woodlands” will honor Jim Blair, Candi Glenn, Kim and Robert Marling, Lloyd Matthews and the South Montgomery County YMCA. Guests will have the opportunity to play “Woodsopoly” and win a chance to “Name a Street” in The Village of Creekside!
