Warren Clark, marketing manager for the Houston Region of BMC SELECT Building Materials, was named the winner of the 2010 CADRE Award for “Associate of the Year.” The award recognizes Clark’s leadership and contributions to the industry. The CADRE is known in the industry as the “Council Award for Demonstrating Remodeling Excellence.” He received the award at the 2010 NAHB Remodelers Gala in Baltimore in September.

Clark’s service includes being on the Remodelors Council’s board of directors for 12 years. He also serves on the board of directors of the Greater Houston Builders Association and previously served as a director of the Galveston County Builders and Remodelers Association. He is active in the GHBA’s Remodelor’s Council, Associates Council, Bay Area Builders Association, Sales and Marketing Council and Custom Builders Council in addition to his participation in and directorships of both the Remodelor’s Council and GHBA.

Woodforest won top honors in two categories for its 2010 American Dream Showcase of Homes in the Greater Houston Builders Association Houston’s Best Awards held Sept. 17. The new development, which officially opened in May 2009, won Best Event of the Year – Developer for its 2010 American Dream Showcase of Homes grand opening celebration. Held in April, the event attracted more than 4,100 people and spurred a jump in home sales. Woodforest also won Best Radio of the Year – Developer for its radio ad promoting the event.

“The showcase was one of our first big events and we were thrilled with the response and now the recognition for our efforts,” said Virgil Yoakum, general manager of Woodforest. “It’s the first of what we hope will be many great events.”

The Houston’s Best Awards recognizes excellence and superior achievement in the home business industry, with awards given to the best people, products and promotions in the greater Houston area.
