Laura Lea Palmer is the new vice president of business retention and expansion for The South Montgomery County Woodlands Economic Development Partnership. In this capacity she is responsible for maintaining existing relationships with businesses in the community, as well as assisting them with employee recruitment, and development, expansion of space as needed, and providing demographic/labor market profiles when appropriate.
Palmer most recently comes from a commercial furniture sales background where she was responsible for new business development in the greater Houston area. Her recent work history also includes five additional years in new business development roles.

Dave Eames has been promoted to branch manager of the R. B. Tullis Branch Library. Eames has been a reference librarian at the Tullis Branch for two years. He has more than 10 years of library experience as an assistant manager in several different public library systems.
During his time at the Tullis Library, he has been responsible for Adult Programs and the Wednesday Book Group. He is currently serving as the library representative for the East Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce Sawmill Festival.

SAR Chapter Honors Genealogy Librarian. The local Freedom Chapter of The Sons of the American Revolution presented Barbara H. Franz with the Silver Good Citizenship Medal, established in 1939, on her retirement after 27 years of service to the Montgomery County library system. The medal was awarded to Franz for her extensive service to the community in the fields of genealogy and education.
