Unique Finds Apr 2012
Deconstructed 19th C. English Wing Chair
Inspired by a mid-19th-century wing chair – liberated from its ancient red velvet upholstery and its frame elegantly exposed – the Van Thiel family set out to replicate its unadorned state. Finding beauty in the stripped-down form, they similarly reproduced other pieces, meticulously hand-crafted to expose the Old World artistry of its inner-workings.
Atomic Lobster Arc Floor Lamp
Swoop, there it is. Low-profile steel sculpture contours hi-impact. Exaggerated contour of gleaming chrome base is punctuated by bright, oversized disc in fun play of proportions. Mod shade, powdercoated slick lobster with hi-gloss white interior, angles light where you need it.
Tania Johnson Design
Tania Johnson Design continues to expand its collection of stunning one-of-a-kind rugs. The process Tania Johnson, the company founder undertakes to create the pieces is as intriguing and deeply layered as the rugs themselves. A selection of recent introductions, Abstract Floral, Threads, Lined Peony, Lined Stem and Leaf Plaid, is an excellent example of this unique process.
