Dear Readers,

Happy Spring! I am honestly in awe of how much I love being given the opportunity to serve our community in this role as social editor. Living a life of service is definitely how I believe we should all strive to live. If we stop to realize how much we as individuals learn from pouring our time and talents into others, we would realize that the ones we serve are often more of a blessing to us than we are to them. Look into your heart and find your passion… embrace it. As an individual we can make a difference, but as a village we can change the world. It’s amazing how even what we consider as an insignificant “talent” can affect others in such a powerful way. So what is your talent? How are you using it to bless others? Our community has so many opportunities to give back – so jump in! Challenge yourself and be an example.

The weather has definitely kept us guessing over the last several weeks. As we move into the season of spring break and vacations, I hope you get a chance to get out and enjoy some outdoor activities. Take advantage of all the amenities we have right in our own backyard.

I will continue to be out and about this month, so you too can be “Scene in The Woodlands!” Keep me posted on your upcoming events! I LOVE to hear from you! If you would like to send high resolution photos from your events, please email them full size (with names attached) to whitney@gmont.com.

Be the change,

Whitney

Chamber Of Commerce Taste Of The Town

The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Taste of the Town was held February 9 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott. It was a fabulous event where guests enjoyed mouth-watering appetizers, entrees, desserts, pastries, and beverages from some of the area’s finest restaurants, caterers, bakeries, delis, and beverage companies. I always say this is my favorite event of the year. It is a night that never disappoints! This event is only one of many events put on by The Chamber. For more information on upcoming Chamber events, please visit woodlandschamber.org.

St. Jude Red Carpet For Hope

St. Jude Red Carpet for Hope was held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center, presented by Panera Bread and chaired by Andria Cain. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Everything is centered on the hospital’s mission: Finding cures and saving children. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. The January event raised $133,115 for the kids of St. Jude. For more information please visit stjude.org.
