April is Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month. I have a passion for educating others on the signs and symptoms of abuse and how we all can be a part of the prevention. Child abuse does not discriminate and affects all races, ethnicities, and social classes. We as a community have a responsibility to take care of “our village.”
Happy Spring! I am honestly in awe of how much I love being given the opportunity to serve our community in this role as social editor. Living a life of service is definitely how I believe we should all strive to live.
Love is definitely in the air. Valentine’s Day is coming up and it always creates an atmosphere of romance and giving. The love and dedication that our community puts into creating the most amazing events and fundraising activities never changes. …
Happy New Year!!!!! I am so excited to see what 2017 has in store for our community. I am absolutely certain that many of us are starting off the year with resolutions that we may or may not keep, but what is important is that we focus on those things that make our hearts happy.
It’s been one year since I began this journey as your social editor of The Woodlands Lifestyles & Homes magazine. I just want to say – Thank you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting me be a part of something so honorable. The events I have attended, the people I have met, and the graciousness I have witnessed have been nothing short of pure, genuine beauty. I am blessed to be a part of this community and I cannot wait to see what is in store for 2017.
November is my favorite month of the year for so many reasons, but most of all because it’s a time focused on giving thanks. As the last two months of 2016 seem to fly by, I hope you will stop and take a moment to give thanks for the blessings that you have in your life. Whether that is the gift of family, friends, health, community, peace or freedom – nothing is too big or too small to be thankful for.
It’s Fall! This is a season that just makes me want to be outside. Schedules seem to get busier, the air gets cooler, and the pumpkin spice flavor comes back. Some of my favorite outdoor activities to kick off Fall are camping, bike riding, visiting a pumpkin patch, taking a scenic drive, enjoying football, and even trying some photography.
It is back to school time!! Summer is over and we are back to the routine of school, extracurricular activities and regular work schedules. The next few months are some of my favorites because of all the galas, fundraisers, and social events.
I can’t believe we are down to less than a month until summer is over and kids are back in school! It has definitely been hot, but it hasn’t slowed anyone down. The Woodlands has had some very exciting events and I love seeing families out taking advantage of all the fun.
Happy Independence Day! July is here already and there is so much happening in our community. Although it is hot outside, some of my favorite events this time of year are the Red, Hot, and Blue Festival and the Fourth of July parade at Market Street. The Fourth of July is just one of those holidays that makes me think of family, grilling out, and a lot of fun in the sun.
The last few weeks have been remarkable as I have been out in the community at so many amazing events. Even more inspiring has been the amount of community support we have had in regards to the recent heavy rains and flooding. Thanks to each and every one of you who have taken time to reach out and help those in need. Serving others never gets old and I pray the blessings come back to all of you in unimaginable ways.
Happy Spring! Although April begins with the ever fun April Fool’s Day, the amount of love and volunteerism in our community is no joke. I am so excited for all of the amazing events coming up for the month of April. I didn’t think I could be more impressed than I already am …
This is my favorite season – the weather has just been absolutely gorgeous!!! This is the month everyone starts to think about planning for spring break. Isn’t it wonderful that we have such a beautiful and fun community where even a “staycation” can be just what we need?
It’s February – the month of love! I am fascinated by all of the romance, love and hype that surfaces around Valentine’s Day. I think we can all agree that we have one of the most loving communities. Just watching the amount of giving and support that people provide to one another makes me feel like it is Valentine’s Day everyday.
Happy New Year!!! It’s 2016 and I am so excited to see what this year has in store for our community. It’s a time when we all start to plan our New Year’s resolutions. I encourage each of you to think about your goals for this year. They may be personal, business, physical, or even financial goals – write them down and put them somewhere that you can see them daily.
Let me introduce myself – My name is Whitney Montgomery and I am honored to be your new Social Editor covering the social events in The Woodlands area. …
